New Intellect / Time & Chaos

Hello from Chaos Software Group!

Last week, we released new versions of Chaos Intellect and Time & Chaos 7 that are available as free updates to current owners of Intellect and Chaos 7, respectively.

What's new this time?

Updates in both Time & Chaos 7.0.2.6 and Chaos Intellect 3.0.2.6

• Do you have any really long phone numbers, email addresses, or web address URLs? Balloon tooltips have been added on both the telephone numbers and custom fields displayed on the main contact list so you can see even the long ones.

• Have you used our Appointments Timeline view for Week or Work Week?
  • We have added the ability to print appointment details of selected appointments without switching away from the Timeline view
  • Timeline view now has a right click option so that you can turn off then start time for appointments to fit more of the description if need be.
• Printing a Memo now includes the Memo subject as the page title.
• vCalendar files are used in some instances to copy Appointment data from one application to another. If you receive a vCalendar event file (with an extension of .vcs), our program can now be registered to open and accept these incoming appointments. Go to Tools, Options and File Associations to control which files our program is "in charge" of.
• Printing of calendars and tasks now follow the group and category filtering on the active screen, even if that is not the main Appointments screen or the main Tasks screen. (useful since the data is also visible in other places like the Classic screen.)
• Do you use our Global Business theme on your Today page? The clocks from our WorldTimeServer.com site can now be easily customized by you to change their location, label or color. Just click on the "Customize" link next to the clocks on this themed Today page.
• Importing data into our databases?
  • import wizard now has a right mouse click option on the grid to rename a column heading
  • import wizard now has a right mouse click option on the grid to automatically split a column into 2 new columns based on a space character. This should be very useful for ACT users converting to split their name field "John Smith" into 2 separate columns "John" and "Smith"

Updates in Chaos Intellect 3.0.2.6 only

• We have added a new "Smart Filter" for improved SPAM predictions on messages that are specifically designed to beat the Bayesian filters (especially the ones with just a picture and no real text).
• Hyperlinks within the html compose screen will now launch the associated application, where before this only worked when reading messages on the main mail screen.
• When viewing web pages on the Today screen, if new mail arrives in the background, you are no longer automatically taken away from the page you are looking at to return back to the Home Today Page.
• Do you use our Server Headers feature to work with a particular mail account directly without downloading mail? If you decide to reply to a message you are reading through server headers, your reply will be sent with the account you are reading, which is especially useful if it is not your "default" account.
• HTML messages that are utf-8 encoded should now display properly.

How to update your software

If you would like to update an older version of Time & Chaos 7 or of Chaos Intellect 3, just go to the Help menu and look for "Check for newer version". Using this option, the program will check for a newer version and offer to download and install it for you.

We recommend allowing it to use the options that it wants to during install to replace your old version with the new. Any data files you have will not be affected by installing the update!
